We worked with indie perfumer Imaginary Authors to create a custom scratch-and-sniff quince varnish for our print article “Golden Globes,” p. 64, SAVEUR Fall/Winter 2025. And we loved the scent so much, we also collaborated to make it into this limited-edition candle—now available for preorder just in time for the holidays.

SYNOPSIS: A painter and her muse build a blissful dream-life for themselves behind closed doors, far from the watchful eyes of a callous society. Outside of the creative refuge they’ve pieced together, each leads a reputable life full of service and devotion. Modern culture might argue there’s nothing dishonorable about the long autumn evenings spent sipping spirits, cooking extravagant spreads, dancing, painting, and laughing into the wee hours, but when a jealous suitor begins poking around, the entire hamlet gets pulled into the uproar. Is This Still Life? puts the zing back into “Amazing.”
